Ever since I was little I’d practice piano like crazy. It was fun to see myself improve, but never once enjoyed playing. Playing piano was just a way of solving certain problems. Trying to avoid fingering mistakes or letting my fingers get all tangled upall just to impress other people. It wasn’t until I gave up the idea of becoming a pianist that I finally understood how enjoyable playing piano can be. And how wonderful music really is. It was like a weight was lifted off my shoulders, a weight I never realized I was lugging around until I got rid of it.
